Fees and insurance
I'm a self-pay practice. You'll know the costs before you start, and I provide superbills you can use for out-of-network reimbursement.
Fees
| Service | Fee |
|---|---|
| 15-minute consultation call | Free |
| First appointment (about 60 minutes) | $225 |
| Individual session (53 minutes or longer) | $225 |
| Parent or family session (about 50 minutes) | $225 |
A limited number of reduced-fee spots are available for students and for people facing financial hardship. Ask about them during your consultation.
Payment
- A credit, debit, HSA, or FSA card goes on file before your first appointment.
- Your card is charged automatically after each session. Charges appear on your statement as "CROSSTIDES."
- Fees may change with at least 30 days' written notice.
Using your insurance
I don't bill insurance directly. If your plan has out-of-network mental health benefits, you may be reimbursed for part of each session. I provide a superbill, a detailed receipt you submit to your insurer.
- Ask your insurer about out-of-network outpatient mental health benefits, your deductible, and how to submit claims.
- Reimbursement isn't guaranteed, and you're responsible for payment either way.
- A superbill includes a diagnosis code, which becomes part of your insurer's records. If you're on someone else's plan, the policyholder may see statements.
- You can choose not to receive superbills at any time.
Cancellations
- Cancel with at least 24 hours' notice: no charge.
- Cancel with less than 24 hours' notice: 75% of your session fee.
- Missed appointment without notice: your full session fee.
- If another client takes the time, no fee applies, and everyone gets one courtesy waiver every 12 months.
These fees aren't reimbursable by insurance and don't appear on superbills.
Good Faith Estimate
You'll receive a written Good Faith Estimate of expected charges when you schedule. My estimates assume weekly sessions for 12 months; your care may be shorter. Read about your right to a Good Faith Estimate.
